About Lawrence: After he graduated from Lutheran West in 1966, Larry attended Eastern Michigan University from 1966 to 1967. He met his wife, Susan, in 1967 at the wedding of Bill Maul and Shar Adair. Sue and Larry married in 1969. She is still hanging in and "fixing him." He served in the U.S. Navy in the Republic of the Philippines from 1970 through 1972. Larry has two daughters, Kristen and Jessica, and two granddaughters, Leah (2001) and Lennon (2009).
Larry went to work for the New York Central Railroad in 1967. After a couple of decades with NYC, he accepted a job offer from the Burlington Northern Railroad in Texas. In 2009, after 42 years in the railroad industry, Larry retired.
While working for New York Central, from 1977-1982 Larry attended Henry Ford Community College and earned an Associates Degree. He lost his faith in 1975, but found it again in 1998. "He is faithful even when we are not." Larry tells us he is "politically to the right of Genghis Khan."
