About Karen: After graduation Karen attended Eastern Michigan University for what she thought was a degree in business. Instead she received her MRS. degree. She and her husband lived in Benton Harbor and Grand Rapids before moving to Bloomington, Illinois for about 10 years. Like so many of our classmates (the really smart ones), they moved to Florida in 1978.
At that time Karen went to work for a group of orthopaedic surgeons. Thirty-four years later, She is still enjoying her job, but admits she's looking forward to more extended free time in retirement.
In 1996, Karen and her husband divorced.
A dear friend, Debbie, and Karen have lived together since then. They have done a lot of traveling and reacquainted themselves with our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They have found, even after divorce when their lives changed in ways they never imagined, He is still their All-in-All.
Their family experienced medical trials with Karen's oldest daughter, Michelle, undergoing two liver transplants over the last fifteen years. Between transplants she married and had her two great boys, Devin and Seth. Even now, she is too busy to dwell on much of anything but being a wonderful mom. They thank God for her miraculous recovery.
Shawne is married and has one son, Dustin, who is now 16, an excellent cross country runner and headed to college soon.
